What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent SiO₂ layer bonded to corrected paint. On a light jet it runs 24–40 hours and $4,500–$9,000, and holds 2–5 years. It must be applied over corrected paint — coating over defects locks them in.

Light condition — illustrative, subject to inspection
FULL SCOPE
- Full decontamination and paint correction as a prerequisite
- Surface prepped with panel wipe to remove all oils
- SiO₂ coating applied by panel, levelled within flash window
- Controlled cure — the aircraft does not fly during it
- Coating map recorded to the aircraft record with batch numbers
APPROVED MATERIALS
- Aviation-grade SiO₂ ceramic, 9H rated
- Solvent panel wipe, residue-free
- Humidity- and temperature-controlled cure environment
QC CHECKPOINTS
- Paint depth read and logged before correction begins
- High-intensity inspection light on every panel after levelling
- Cure conditions logged hourly
WHAT THIS PROTECTS
It takes the UV, the rain erosion and the chemical attack that would otherwise reach the paint, and it makes every subsequent wash shorter and less abrasive.
Questions owners actually ask
- Do I need paint correction first?
- Yes, and this is not upsell. Ceramic is optically clear and permanent for years — anything under it is sealed in and magnified. We will not coat uncorrected paint.
- How long is the aircraft down?
- Two to four days for a light jet including correction and cure. We schedule around your calendar and give you the release time in writing.
